Bolt schedule builder

A reference page answers one question about one size. A job needs the answers for every fastener at once, on one sheet, in the order they go in. Pick sizes from the 228-size reference and this builds the sheet: pitch, tap drill, wrench size, grade or property class, target preload and estimated tightening torque on every line, with the sizes the standards do not cover marked as such rather than filled in.

Where the numbers come from

Nothing on the sheet is computed here. Every dimension, pitch and tap drill is the value published on that size's own free reference page, and every preload and torque figure is the row from T = K · F · d at 0.20 that the bolt-torque calculator and the shop charts print. A schedule line and a size page can never disagree, because they read the same record.

Where a standard defines nothing, the sheet says so. ISO 898-1 specifies property classes from M1.6 upwards, SAE J429 skips the numbered sizes and defines nothing above 1-1/2 in, and pipe threads are made up to a seal rather than tightened to a preload - so those lines print not defined with a footnote naming the standard that stops there.

Torque figures are estimates. Always follow the fastener manufacturer's specification and your joint's engineering requirements for anything load-bearing.
