Pipe schedule chart
Outside diameter, wall thickness, inside diameter and weight per foot for every published schedule, per ASME B36.10M (welded and seamless wrought steel pipe) (carbon and alloy steel) and ASME B36.19M (stainless steel pipe) (stainless). Pick a size and schedule for the full page.
Trade size is not a diameter
NPS 2 pipe measures 2.375 inches across the outside, and it measures 2.375 inches in every schedule there is. The schedule number sets the wall, so a heavier schedule keeps the same outside diameter and takes the thickness out of the bore. That is why a schedule 80 fitting slips over schedule 40 pipe of the same size, and why the inside diameter is the number you need for flow and the outside diameter is the number you need for fit.
What this table covers, and where it stops
This table runs from NPS 1/8 to NPS 24 and stops there. ASME B36.10M itself continues to NPS 80; those larger sizes are not carried here, so a size above NPS 24 is missing rather than undefined.
Every figure below was read out of at least two independent published tables before it was printed. Where the tables disagreed the row says so instead of quietly picking a side. 14 cells were carried by only one of the sources; they are listed at the foot of this page rather than filled in.
